About me

I'm Laura, a friendly and supportive piano teacher based in Rawtenstall, Rossendale

I have a deep-rooted love for music that began at a young age, and have been playing the piano since early childhood. Over this time, I have honed my abilities to become a highly skilled pianist and qualified teacher.

My mission is simple

Ultimately, I don't want you to need a piano teacher at all.

I will teach you to read music, improvise, and give you a solid foundation in music theory and piano technique so you can go on to play anything you like. I create a safe and comfortable environment for learning and exploration. Lessons with me are completely bespoke, based on individual goals and learning preferences, ensuring each student's progress is celebrated and nurtured.

Why learn with me?

• I am an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music (ARSM), having being awarded the Diploma in Piano Performance with Distinction.

• I hold a Diploma in Music Teaching from the International School of Musicians (AISoM Ed), also with Distinction. 

• I am certified in Safeguarding Level 2, and my Enhanced DBS certificate is available on request.

• I am a member of EPTA UK, a professional organisation which promotes excellence in piano teaching and performance and also a member of ISM, the Independent Society of Musicians.

• I teach from my home studio, offering my students the opportunity to play my Yamaha grand piano, Steinway & Sons upright piano, or join an online video lesson for convenience. 

• Families have access to an online student portal to keep track of lesson bookings, notes, practice logs, and payments. 

• My adult students have access to a private Facebook group - a supportive community where they can share performances, connect with others, and feel part of something bigger, making piano learning a more connected and enjoyable experience.
